In one beautiful and dream-like evening
in Bangkok, it was the new start of a new experience in my life with the PTT Seeding The Future Camp 2015. I am Ranavatar Chenn (Nickie), a 4th year student of the IBBA program at DPUIC.
The PTT Seeding the Future Camp was held in Thailand from 29th of September to 2nd of October 2015. I was a Cambodian student representative of DPUIC to participate in the camp. There were thirty-two participants in total from 4 countries in Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines. The objectives of the camp were to create a potential youth network in the ASEAN Community, to provide an opportunity for the camp participants to share their life experiences and to build PTT brand engagement and promote a good and reliable image as an international organization to the AEC youth. We started with a get-together dinner and ice-breaking activities in Bangkok in the evening of the 29th. Then, the next morning, we went to the headquarters of PPT Group for the camp’s opening ceremony. On the 4 day trip, we went to many PTT business branches such as the Crystal PTT on Chaiyapreuk Road, PTT’s headquarters and Prakanong subsidiary (Café Amazon Coaching Acadamy), PTT Training and Operations Center at Kao-Boe-Ya Oil Terminal in Chonburi province, PTT Rayong Gas Separation Plant, Thai Oil Refinery and PTT football stadium in Rayong province and Jiffy Super Fresh Market to learn about how they operate the businesses. Besides paying a visit to PTT businesses, we also went to the beach to relax and go snorkeling. The most special and most memorable moment from the camp was the teamwork activity every night. The purpose was to build friendship in the camp and learn about the real life experience from the staffs by doing some creative activities like team bonding and reflection activities. It was also a great chance to have Khun Wisarn Chawalitanon, Vice President of International Marketing (Oil Business) as the guest speaker. He gave us advice on how life after graduation is and his personal working
experience. “Nothing is impossible if you don’t give up” was his ad
vice for us to get ready for work and to live as a successful person and a good citizen in society.
During this 4 day trip, I learnt many things, not just about the PTT business but also the meaning of life, friendship and teamwork. Time flew really fast and it was so hard to say goodbye to these amazing people. I still could not believe that an introverted person like me could open up and get close to people in less than a week. They were talented and friendly; there was no discrimination at all in this camp. Everyone was equal. We were more like a big family rather than just friends. We worked together and supported each other. We shared smiles and tears until the end. Therefore, I would like to say thanks to PTT and DPUIC for giving me the opportunity to join this camp. The other thirty-one participants in the camp and I were so lucky to become the first seeds to grow in PTT’s healthy soil and I will work harder to be a good full-grown tree for a brighter future.
