On Wednesday, DPUInternational College students in Aj. Dominic’s Business Analysis and Planning class had their third lecture with guest speakers from Ashoka, Thailand, the leading force of social entrepreneurs. This year’s course has been co-created with Ashoka Thailand and aims to equip students with business planning skills whilst focusing on solving society’s problems. K’Newey (Deputy Director) and K’Boy (Project Manager) presented a range of topics regarding social enterprise and finished the day with design thinking. The objective of these lectures was mostly about changing the way students think and to be more creative whilst not being limited by their surroundings. A range of examples of successful Thai and international social entrepreneurs were also shown. Overall, many students were captivated by the charm of this type of business where they could generate money while also doing good deeds. The students were also given the task of writing a business plan for an existing social enterprise or to even come up with a new social enterprise concept and plan. All in all, the lecture series was a great success.
