2015 CSR Camp: Nakorn Pathom
By Ms. Nattagorn Srisilp
On March 28, 2015, DPUIC students, along with the staffs, went to Nakorn Pathom, in order to gain knowledge about rice types, growth and rice farms. We meet the director of the laboratories of Kasetsart University. He taught the students how rice grows, the types of rice, and general information about it. There were many new things that students learned for example, GMOs, the adaptation to changing factors, and the dangers for rice.
We had lunch at noon before we moved to a rice factory. We have seen the method of Riceberry rice and how to collect the rice; the imperfect rice is made into powder. Then, we went to the “Ban San Palm Hotel” and took a rest before we went to “Phra Pra Thom Pagoda Temple”. It was very big and beautiful, but it is so sad that we couldn’t go up. We also had dinner there in a big market in front of the temple that had many food stalls showing true Thai culture, and we went back to the hotel afterwards.
On Sunday, we had a chance to visit the Sanamjan Palace, which has many beautiful sculptures and rich history. Then in the afternoon we went to Sampran Elephant Ground & Zoo. We saw shows including crocodiles and elephants. We had a lot of fun seeing them.
